So, what are we waiting for? Let’s dive into Mod Order and Management! The Easiest Stuff First From managing long mod lists more effectively to getting things in the right order, there are lots of different things you can do that don’t involve any tools at all.

Different mod-friendly games handle mods differently, and there are loads of different tools available to help you out. Err, that is… I mean…Īhem… the last sentence notwithstanding, there are a lot of different ways to handle load order. Even if you know what you’re doing, that’s way too time intensive for most people – and I don’t know what I’m doing. You then launch the game, see what’s working, then quit out and adjust the mod order based on that information. From there, you use the built-in tools for the game to put the mods in the appropriate order. Once you have compiled that list, you go through them and decide which mods you want to override others, and, using your advanced scripting skills, you figure out what’s causing the crash. Then you make a spreadsheet on LibreOffice, filling in the information you have gleaned, and use the organizational tools inherent in spreadsheets to spot the conflicts.

So, what can we do about this? Well, fix the load order of course! You go through your mods using a variety of tools, figure out exactly which files they modify. I figure you should see it as often as I have.

  • The conflict gets too big, and the game crashes! Booo!.
  • The Mod loaded last wins! Yay! Except you lose the benefits of the other mod, which may or may not be cool, depending on what it is.

So… what happens then?ĭepending on what’s going on, there are three possibilities: That is to say, you’re going to have more than one mod that tries to change the same thing. You see, with any Mod collection big enough, you’re going to run into conflicts. This might seem irrelevant at first glance, but it’s really, really not. Load Order is the order your mods load in. So, it’s basically right there on the tin. I skipped a step, didn’t I? Load Order: The Order In Which Mods Load What’s Load Order? What’s a Mod Manager? Oh, crap. It’s also great if you really, really know what you’re doing – it has all the features a Mod Manager really needs: the ability to activate or delete a file, and the ability to adjust Load Order. This is the built in Data File Manager for Skyrim, and… well, if you’re only using the official DLC, it’s just fine. I mean, technically, it works, but… it just could be a lot better. I only have to reset the stats while not ending up being negative stats then.Īny suggestions why there are preexisting chosen skills already on a custom class of a mod?Īnd i dont want to start a big adventure if in midstgame it starts to fall apart whatever it might be.Įvery comment could be helpful, i know some of you are experienced in load orders. So… so useless. I know have at least the option to reset the stats of the warrior by stat reset potion, if nothing will crash again. Fortunately i know quite certainly that it crashed because of the stats went negative. Then i tried to buy a reset/respec potion from the vendor but then it crashed. The option to reset the stat points, which does not work at all, is my major concern. strangely enough, i only can reset skillpoints on the warrior. Now that might be a minor inconsistence, but. The other classes are just how one can expect it. I can without problems reset all skillpoints on the warrior by the npc reset option for free, but there were 2 preexisting skillpoints used already on 2 different skills, of one is a lvl 28 skill which should not be there if i start a new character i guess.īecause if i reskill that warrior, i gain 2 additional skill points for free. The only observed problem is the Warrior Class whithin the Additional Classes mod. I wanted to play Paladin, Ninja, Ranger and the Warrior. So i will ask here the first question about the theoretical functionality of my load order which is the following one:

I came up with a little list, the 10 of my likings and so far no big problem.īut one thing i dont know yet how to solve or to make a workaround to get it going perfectly. Now i did alot of reading, to get a clear picture of what and how i wanna play again some TL2. I did play this game years ago for a while but cannot say for sure what mods i used then.
